It’s not about doing what you’re told.

It’s about praying for God’s guidance together.

In our tradition, nobody has the authority to demand obedience – or to exercise power for their own interests, or cover up the sins of the powerful. In our tradition, authority is always shared by groups of people who prayerfully seek God’s guidance together.
